Collected Works of Vladimir Galushin, Volume 1

Dear colleagues!

We are starting to publish the collected works of Vladimir Mikhailovich Galushin. Today we are posting the first volume, which includes two monographs:

Galushin V. M. 1971. The number and territorial distribution of birds of prey in the European center of the USSR // Proceedings of the Oka State Nature Reserve, issue 8. Moscow: 5–132. [in Russian]

Galushin V. M. 1982. The role of birds of prey in ecosystems // Results of science and technology. Series: Vertebrate zoology. Vol. 11. Moscow: 158–238. [in Russian]

In total, it is planned to publish four volumes of works. This collection is based on materials collected by S. A. Mechnikova. The difficulty of this work was that most of these publications had never been digitized before, so they had to be photocopied or photographed.

As for digitization, many articles were subsequently republished by Alexander Bardin in the Russian Ornitological Journal. In the process of preparing the remaining volumes, we will use these publications in addition to the originals whenever possible.

The first volume is available in two formats: PDF (117 MB) and DJVU (4.3 MB). PDF is much “heavier” in size, but is equipped with bookmarks and an interactive table of contents.

We thank Svetlana Andreevna Mechnikova for her titanic work and call on all colleagues to join the work on preparing the remaining volumes for publication. If you have digitized publications by Vladimir Mikhailovich or the opportunity to digitize them in good quality, please contact us by e-mail romanov.eagle@gmail.com.

Peace and goodness to all,
V. P. Belik, M. Romanov, A. Sharikov, S. Mechnikova
